Alex Manganella

production manager

Alex leads our video production team as they turn proposals on paper into award winning films and promotional videos.

That means he helps shape expectations around realistic goals, then makes sure the team and gear arrive on site when it’s time to roll cameras.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in film and media arts at Temple University, where he studied under award-winning filmmakers. Alex interned with the entertainment company Stampede in Los Angeles where he analyzed feature-length scripts and studied social media trends used by Hollywood’s most successful entertainment companies.

At Coal Creative, Alex contributed to notable video projects for the America250 campaign, The Governor’s Awards for the Arts and the Pennsylvania Harness Horsemen’s Association.

Outside of work, Alex creates short films and music videos. Most recently, the film “blackhole.,” created alongside Coal Creative colleagues Holly Pilcavage and Samuel O’Connell, has gone on to earn multiple awards during a successful festival run.

In his free time, Alex enjoys writing comedy, hanging with friends and playing with his two cats, Marley and Fiona. He can also dunk a basketball on a nine-foot rim, and people who’ve witnessed it claim it’s spectacular.
