The Annual Wilkes-Barre Chamber Dinner is upon us, and Coal Creative couldn’t be more thrilled to help make it happen this year!

The virtual event will be live-streamed on Tuesday, November 19th from 4PM-5PM and will honor some of the best and brightest businesses and individuals in our community. The Coal team is creating the video that will premiere the night of the event, as well as the livestream for the evening. Something else that makes this year extra special- Coal Creative will be honored with the Pride of Place Pivot Award! The award recognizes organizations that have successfully adapted their workspaces or programs and services to meet the needs of their clients and community during the current pandemic. We will be receiving the award alongside other local superstars, including The Accelerator Wilkes-Barre, The Canning House Restaurant & Grocer Collective, Misericordia University, Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza, and Times Leader Media Group.

In response to the pandemic, we’ve had to pivot in a handful of ways. One of our proudest pivots was with our local nonprofits. Since the start of the pandemic, we have effectively produced over ten virtual events, primarily for local non-profits that could no longer host their vital fundraising events in person. Collectively, these virtual programs raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and were viewed by tens of thousands of individuals. “To be recognized by our local Chamber of Commerce is humbling,” says Holly, Coal Creative’s CEO. “I could not be more proud of the work my team has put in every single day since this all started.”

Awards being presented that night include:

Charitable Organization of the Year: Osterhout Free Library

Emerging Business of the Year: American Paper Bag

Legacy Business of the Year: Best Western Plus Genetti Hotel

Diversity Champion Business of the Year: PNC Bank

Lifetime Achievement Award: Rev. John Ryan, C.S.C., Ph.D.

Healthy Workplace, Healthy Community Awards: DxDempsey, studio BE
