The Wilkes-Barre Connect Spotlight events are great for our community for a number of reasons.
#1. They help highlight up and coming individuals in our area in specific fields.
#2. They are free and open to the public.
#3. Students are especially encouraged to attend to get excellent networking experience and the opportunity to meet some influential individuals in our area.
These are just a few and the list goes on. Our team is always grateful for the opportunity to work on the video spotlights for these events. It gives us the opportunity to meet these influential members of our business community and share their stories.
The upcoming Wilkes-Barre Spotlight event is focused on Women’s Entrepreneurship. Last years Women Entrepreneurship Spotlight Event featured Helen Lavelle as the featured speaker and also featured our intern at the time Taylor Finan. This year, the event will feature five new women entrepreneurs and their stories.
Firstly, we got the opportunity to work with Michelle Lehman, founder of RAE SLEEVES. Michelle Lehman is a graduate of Wilkes-University and is also the 2018 TecBridge Business Competition winner. Her product, RAE SLEEVES, helps women who suffer from upper arm insecurity. These sleeves are easy to wear underneath any top or dress to help women feel covered and comfortable.
Next, we got the chance to work with Zubeen Saeed. Zubeen is the President/CEO of Building Blocks Learning Center right here in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Building Blocks has programs for children of all ages, ranging from infancy to school age. The mission of Building Blocks is to provide a safe, healthy, positive, nurturing, learning environment to foster the development of every child.
Lisa Urbanski is the third Video Spotlight for the event and also the President/Co-Founder of Brighter Journeys. Brighter Journeys is a charity that provides words of comfort, assist in directing to resources, and the intention to provide tangible support to those families who have children with complex medical or behavioral conditions.
Finally, we got the chance to work with Natalie Lynn, founder of Counterpart Kombucha. Natalie started in 2013 under the name Natalie’s Craft Kombucha and has grown from the trunk of Natalie’s car to shelves in over 40 small businesses. Counterpart Kombucha takes pride in producing the highest quality kombucha with only the finest ingredients.
