Throughout 2017, we are working with our interns to highlight 52 Creatives from the NEPA region. We believe creativity is a broad term that cannot be easily confined within the walls of one simple definition. We want to know what being creative means to you and how you bring that creativity to light.

Linda Rowe is our seventh #NEPACreative of 2017. Linda brings creativity to the area through photography!

Linda began photographing out of the desire to document the life of her children and family, although it became much more than that. When asked what separates someone as an artist, Linda said, “It’s having a creative perspective that touches people, is familiar, yet unlike what anyone else can duplicate.” This is a challenge she was able to overcome in the past 4-5 years, originating with her trip to India in 2012.

Linda had a feeling that she would see a world few get to experience, so she wanted to share her journey through social media, allowing others to live vicariously through her. During her month in India, Linda received feedback from friends, family, and strangers on how impactful her photos were and how excited they were for the next post.

Linda went on to say, “When I am photographing people, it’s about what is behind the shot.” Meaning that she wants the photograph to express the love, thoughts, emotions, and identity of this person/who they are at this point in their life. She is passionate about capturing the human form in all its perfections and imperfections, as well as the world we live in, specifically Northeast PA and Wilkes-Barre. She wants people to know our community and feel good about the choice to live, work and play here. To Linda, being creative is about sharing an insight, a view, a passion and ultimately an expression of love.
