From an early age, Alex has been telling stories in every way possible. His love for movies and television inspired him to start making films of his own on home video cameras, screening them to audiences comprised of friends and family (almost all of which likely starred in the films).
When it came time for college, Alex took his interests to Temple University in Philadelphia, where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Film and Media Arts. While at Temple, he took a wide variety of classes in filmmaking under the instruction of award winning filmmakers. His weekends were spent shooting short films and comedy sketches all around Philadelphia, as well as editing real estate videos for a company he created called Droned, and filming weddings for Wilkes-Barre based Knot Just Any Day, where he would meet future collaborator and fellow Coal Creative team member, Sam O’Connell.
Alex spent his final semester of college in Los Angeles, California through Temple’s Study Away program. While out west Alex interned with Stampede — a company in West Hollywood created by former Warner Bros. President Greg Silverman. Alex’s time at Stampede was spent reading and writing coverage on feature length scripts, as well as working with the company’s social media department to identify patterns and trends utilized by the Hollywood’s most successful entertainment companies.
Now back in NEPA, Alex is excited to pick back up with Coal Creative and continue to work on a variety of new projects. In the past he’s had a hand in creating videos for the EPIC Awards, The Governor’s Award for the Arts, and a video series highlighting business and agriculture tourism and quality of life within Wyoming County.
In his free time Alex enjoys writing comedy, hanging with friends, and playing with his two cats, Marley and Fiona.
