Jonah Kramer | The #NEPACreative Series | CoalCreative
Throughout 2017, we are working with our interns to highlight 52 Creatives from the NEPA region. We believe creativity is a broad term that cannot be easily confined within the walls of one simple definition. We want to know what being creative means to you and how you bring that creativity to light.
Jonah Kramer is our 51st #NEPACreative of 2017. Jonah brings creativity to the area through multiple mediums of art, including graphic design and music.
When Jonah Kramer was eight years old, his parents couldn’t get him to stop tapping and banging on everything in the house. Most parents would scold a child for being disruptive and noisy, but Jonahs parents went an opposite route, having him enrolled in a rock school program and buying him a drum set. That was the start of Jonahs creative journey into music. Jonah has channeled most of his creativity into music, working solo and with other artists. Unlike other artists, Jonah doesn’t limit himself to one genre. While currently he is working on a lot of R&B and rap, he has also worked in other styles spanning from acoustic fold to hardcore punk.
Jonah says that his biggest inspirations are Kanye West and Morrisey. He is a marketing major at Wilkes University at the present moment, and hopes to work in online advertising or internet marketing, and is starting an internship here at CoalCreative in the spring of 2018. Jonah is mainly focusing on his solo work now, with a full length project releasing early 2018 and a collaborative EP with a singer from Philadelphia releasing around the same time. He plans to keep creating and producing. To Jonah, being creative is doing anything that you’re passionate about and creating something new out of it.
