Throughout 2017, we are working with our interns to highlight 52 Creatives from the NEPA region. We believe creativity is a broad term that cannot be easily confined within the walls of one simple definition. We want to know what being creative means to you and how you bring that creativity to light.
Caroline Jones is our 24th #NEPACreative of 2017. Caroline brings creativity to the area through writing children’s books.
Caroline discovered when she was in high school that far too many young children of NEPA did not know how to read, nor did they have their own books. Caroline’s motivation to inspire young children to read and to educate their parents on why reading is so important launched the Read to Succeed Project.
Her first book, “One More Book, Please!” was published in 2013 and since then has traveled all over NEPA as well as nationally and internationally reading to schools and child areas promoting childhood literacy.
Caroline’s aspiration to earn a PhD in Leadership has taught her that there is an absence of understanding of leadership in children. This has lead to her second book, “The Line Leader,” which was published in November of 2016. The book is being used to give teachers and parents a resource to help their students and children understand how they can demonstrate leadership in their daily lives.
Caroline also furthers her initiative to promote reading as a titleholder in the Miss America Organization.
