Confused on digital marketing and all its parts? CoalCreative is here to help. Introducing #CoalClasses, your masterclass to bringing your organization into a digital world.

When it comes to digital marketing, it is easy to get confused in all of its facets. This is because digital marketing its the newest form of marketing, and by a lot of peoples standards, the most complex.

By definition, Digital marketing is the marketing of products or services using digital technologies, mainly on the Internet, but also including mobile phones, display advertising, and any other digital medium.

Graphic Design is probably one of the most easily recognizable parts of Digital Marketing because it existed far before Digital Marketing was even around. Graphic design, also known as communication design, is the art and practice of planning and projecting ideas and experiences with visual and textual content. Essentially – it is the art of combining pictures/graphics and text to convey a message. This goes back to the earliest forms of advertising such as magazine ads. Graphic design takes other forms such as:

  • Social Media Graphics / Posts
  • Business Card Design
  • Logo Design
  • Banner Advertisements
  • E-mail Marketing
  • Print Advertisement

Since most marketing efforts include graphic design in some form, it is vital that your business’ graphic design efforts are as fruitful as possible. You want to ensure that when you are spending money on graphic design, you are positive that that design is going to get you the most return for your money. Some other reasons graphic design is important are:

  • Brand Recognition: Creating cohesive graphics for your business that flow together but also are different enough to be engaging is a fine line to teeter, but when done correctly, can enhance the reach of those graphics.
  • Communication: Studies show that people will look at a photo before they read the content on an article, social media post, blog post, etc. That makes creating easy to understand graphs and infographics that are also not too text-heavy very important. This also comes into play with business card design.
  • Efficiency: You want your graphics to be efficient enough to be easily recognized as yours, get your point across, and get the reader to click that link that’s attached. This makes creating efficient graphics vital for any business.
