Today, I don’t wanna talk about you. I wanna talk about your competitors and how you can take advantage of what they’re doing to help you make better decisions with your own marketing efforts.

Watch what your Competitors are doing and learn!

Let’s say you’re a startup business just beginning to launch your social networks or you’re an existing company hurting for some new ideas or inspiration. Today we’re going to talk about a way that you can come up with new ideas by taking advantage of existing content posted by your competitors.

Now, I’m not telling you to outright steal from them, but if you’re ever stuck trying to come up with new ideas, there is nothing wrong with checking out your competitors to see what they are putting out. By utilizing other ideas and making them your own in some way, shape, or form, you’re staying in line with what other brands in your industry are doing and showing how you can creatively approach a similar idea, topic or product.

You don’t always have to reinvent the wheel but be sure to also pay attention to the things that your competitors aren’t doing with their social media that you might be able to take advantage of. Are they using video or photos, hashtagging or tagging other businesses, asking questions or polling their audience… come up with ways to watch what your competitors are doing and take advantage of what they’re missing.
