Hello everyone! With so much happening at Coal, July has come and gone. The Coal Team has been up to some exciting stuff lately, and I’ll fill you in on the past few weeks.
First, Matt and Will were interviewed by Susan Magnotta of the Institute for Public Policy & Economic Development for the Times Leader. Matt spoke with her about his pursuit of a degree at LCCC [Luzerne County Community College] in their graphic design program. The article stated that “He credits that degree and the college with his success as the lead web developer and designer at Coal Creative, a regional marketing and design company.” Will, one of our video production specialists, spoke about the local music scene. He stated, “Those of us in the arts community definitely have a sense of pride in the music scene here – not every city has all that we have.”
Check out these two inspiring articles! We are so proud of Matt and Will and our area of NEPA.
Also, a funny coincidence.. the Coal Team had some unplanned color coordination in the office. It was Matt and Travis against Holly and Alex. Grey Vs. Green: Who do you think would win a battle?
Our web development and design team has been busy getting some of our client’s websites up and running. The new websites for the Family Service Association of Northeastern Pa and the Wyoming County Chamber of Commerce are now live! We are so proud to collaborate with these incredible organizations and to make their visions a reality. Thanks to Matt and Travis, we had a beautiful outcome. Check out the websites to see all of the good these organizations do for our community!
Our Video Production team has also been hard at work in the last two weeks. They have been finishing up the United Way of Wyoming Valley‘s annual campaign video, plus they were out shooting a fun promo for the exciting location announcement of the upcoming CASAblanca event. Alex, Sam, and Holly headed out to the Forty-Fort Airport to film and act in the skit. Alex even got to sit in an airplane!
Plus, us interns have been coming along on our Intern Video Project. This past Tuesday we headed to Blue Ribbon Dairy, Sabatini’s Pizza, and Curly Creme to get some more footage of NEPA pizza and ice cream. We are so grateful that these local businesses have been so helpful to us in the filming process!
Rockin’ the River also had its final concerts of the summer. First, The National Reserve headlined and we got to enjoy a blend of funk, soul, and rock. The following Friday, a Dave Matthew’s tribute band, A Proud Monkey, performed. With food trucks and free parking, the community had a blast coming together and enjoying the great music and perfect weather. We hope to see Rockin’ the River again next summer!
And finally, we got to let off some steam at the Young Professionals Kickball Tournament this past Thursday. This annual event is one of our favorites to get our team out of the office and into the fresh air. Although we didn’t win this year, we love supporting a great cause with some light-hearted fun. Thank you to the Greater Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce and the YP Council for pulling this off every year.
With August here, the summer is slipping further and further away. But here at Coal, we are excited to see what the new month will bring! Be sure to check back in to see where August will take us.
Stay Coal,
Juliana
